AI-Powered Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management for Regulated Industries

Founded in 2020 by chief executive Venky Yerrapotu and chief operating officer Supra Appikonda, 4CRisk.ai builds AI software for regulatory compliance and risk management, operating from Redwood Shores, California with an R&D team in Bangalore. Its ARIA platform is aimed at chief compliance officers, regulatory affairs and legal staff, chief risk officers, and security and IT risk teams, primarily inside banks, insurers, fintechs, and retail, hi-tech and telecom firms carrying heavy regulatory obligations.

The platform is built on Specialized Language Models, smaller domain models pre-trained on curated regulatory corpora rather than general-purpose LLMs, and can be deployed in a dedicated or private cloud environment. Products ingest authoritative sources from thousands of regulatory agencies to assemble jurisdiction-specific rulebooks, then map those obligations onto internal governance artifacts such as policies, procedures, contracts, risks and controls. Gap analysis is presented visually, with confidence scores, source attribution and human-in-the-loop review before remediation language is generated.

Positioning rests on the argument that narrow models are safer than general LLMs for regulated work: fewer hallucinations, lower latency and cost, customer data excluded from training, plus SOC 2 controls, role-based access and audit trails. Modules span Regulatory Research, Regulatory Change Management, Compliance Map, HorizonScan and the Ask ARIA co-pilot. Recognition includes a Chartis Research Best of Breed quadrant placement, consecutive RegTech100 listings and an AIFinTech100 spot. The business has since been acquired by RegTech vendor CUBE.
